Founded in 1933, the Steelers are the oldest team in the American Football Conference. It has been owned by the family of founder Art Rooney (1901-1988) since formation. The team has won pro ball’s top prize, the Super Bowl, an impressive eight times.
Acrisure Stadium is a modern, state-of-the-art sports facility that opened in 2001 under the name Heinz Field. It has a design that echoes the architectural mix of downtown, which is just across from the Ohio River. (Insurance firm Acrisure bought naming rights in 2022). Patrons can enjoy a skyline view as well as an exciting football game while comfortably seated in the stadium’s 65,000 seats.
