Acrisure Stadium is a modern, state-of-the-art sports facility that serves as the home to the Pittsburgh Steelers and University of Pittsburgh Panthers football teams.

The Pittsburgh Steelers is a professional football team that was established in 1933 and is the oldest franchise in the American Football Conference. It has been owned by the family of founder Art Rooney (1901-1988) since formation. The team has won pro ball’s top prize, the Super Bowl, an impressive eight times.

The Pittsburgh Panthers is the student football team of the University of Pittsburgh which has been playing since 1889. They have won nine national championships making the Panthers among the leading college teams in the United States.

Opened in 2001 under the name Heinz Field, the stadium is a stunning addition to the city’s north shore with a design that echoes the architectural mix of downtown, which is just across from the Ohio River. (Insurance firm Acrisure bought naming rights in 2022). Patrons can enjoy a skyline view as well as an exciting football game while comfortably seated in the stadium’s 65,000 seats. Teams especially enjoy what has become a rarity on football fields: real (not artificial) grass.

The stadium’s Great Hall has become famous in the region for its impressive collection of Steelers and Panthers memorabilia.

In addition to sports, Acrisure Stadium is often used to host huge, outdoor concerts headlined by some of the music world’s biggest acts.
