This Tony winning musical play offers a wicked alternative view of the 1900 fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, written by American author L. Frank Baum (1856-1919).
The novel chronicles the adventures of a young farm girl named Dorothy in the magical Land of Oz after she and her pet dog Toto are swept away from their Kansas home by a cyclone. Among those she meets are the Wicked Witch of the West and Glenda the Good Witch. “Wicked” centers on the two witches who first meet as girls and follows their complex relationship through the years.
