Participate in this two-part beginner-friendly knitting hat project class (the first session was scheduled for January 15).

Knitting is the process that creates a textile or fabric from yarn. Humans have been knitting for thousands of years and historians remain unclear as to its origin. Knitting creates stitches: loops of yarn in a row, either flat or in the round. This can be done by hand or by machine. The modern English term is a linguistic descendant of the Old English word “cnyttan” which means “to knot.”

In this class, you will learn how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off. Students will also learn to read a knitting pattern, decrease stitches, sew invisible seams (mattress stitch), and make a pom-pom.
