Introduced in 1939, Batman is a comic book hero created by writers/illustrators Bo Kane (1915-1998) and Milton Finger (1914-1974). He is the dark, brooding alter ego of billionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne.
This installment has Batman facing multiple challenges: a greedy businessman (Christopher Walken) has recruited a criminal gang leader called Penguin (Danny DeVito) take over the city. Meanwhile, Bruce finds himself drawn to a quirky secretary (Michelle Pfeiffer) who is secretly the mysterious Catwoman.
