The internationally acclaimed pianist Yefim Bronfman (pictured) joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for a terrific program centered around a signature work by German composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).

Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).

At its debut, the audience was startled by the length, originality and the revolutionary style of Beethoven’s “Heroic” Symphony. This was the true start of Beethoven’s genius — and no one had ever heard anything like it before.
