Hailing from the historic Russian city of Yekaterinburg, the band Slaughter to Prevail (whose members often perform with full-face masks) creates heavy and dark-themed rock songs, with a major focus on lead singer Alex Shikolai’s deep guttural vocals.
Yekaterinburg is Russia’s fourth largest city. Founded in 1723 and named after Empress Catherine I (1684-1727), the city has the tragic distinction of being the place where Emperor Nicholas II (1868-1918) and his family were brutally killed.
