Celebrate the rich culture of Brazil in a special program of film and music.
The Republic of Brazil is the largest nation in South America. Its legacy spans thousands of years starting with a complex prehistoric culture and including Portuguese settlers.
The 2018 documentary film “Where Are You, João Gilberto?” relates the amazing life and career of Brazilian guitarist, singer and composer João Gilberto (1931-2019; pictured).
Also being screened is the 2024 film “Sisters” about a brave teen girl who decides to confront the violent machinery that governs her family and the women in her community.
Between the screenings will be a live performance by Brazilian musicians Lais & Zema alongside delectable refreshments.
