Bealtaine is a local folk band striving to keep traditions alive while borrowing influence from the modern world.
With roots in Irish and Scottish folk, songs from the Canada’s maritime provinces, traditional tunes, and working-class anthems, Bealtaine looks to make their own mark in the folk music world.
The band’s name is a reference to the ancient Gaelic festival marking the beginning of summer in early May.
Admission is free. Presented as part of the Three Rivers Arts Festival, a celebration of the arts in Pittsburgh since 1960. The festival is a production of the nonprofit Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
