Slip into a fantastical realm where imagination reigns and the unexpected awaits at every turn set to magnificent music and featuring vibrant costumes.
The ballet is an adaptation of two children’s books written by English author Lewis Carroll (1832-1898): Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (first published in 1865) and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass (1871).
At the center of the story is a little girl named Alice who has become bored with her school’s assigned homework. Her longing for adventure is realized with the sudden appearance of a white rabbit whose “late for a very important date” leads her into a magical world.
Presented by the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, which has been staging professional ballet in Pittsburgh since 1969.
