American conductor/pianist Karina Canellakis leads American Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan (pictured) and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in a program centered on a unique work by German composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).

Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).

Beethoven wrote his second between 1787 to 1789. Inon Barnatan shapes each passage with his refined touch and expressive nuances, highlighting the concerto’s wit and energy.
