One of the most beloved and enduring children’s tales has been reimagined as a wonderfully whimsical stage musical.
That tale is the 1957 book How the Grinch Stole Christmas written and illustrated by Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel (1904-1991). The book uses rhymed verse to tell the redemption story of a cranky creature named Grinch who is determined to spoil Christmas for the citizens of the town of Whoville. It was adapted as a popular animated television special in 1966 narrated by actor Boris Karloff (1887-1969).
This musical uses both new songs and those from the TV special, including the memorable “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”
