Set on the bare stage of a Broadway theater, the musical “A Chorus Line” gives the audience an inside look at the challenges of staging a big-budget show.
The imperious director Zach and his assistant Larry are auditioning seventeen singer/dancers for slots in an upcoming musical’s chorus line. The process provides a glimpse into the personalities of the performers and the choreographer, as they describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers.
Songs include “One” and “I Hope I Get It.” The musical was made into a 1985 film starring Michael Douglas.
