Drag artist Daniel Noriega takes the stage as Adore Delano, performing classic pop tunes and original songs reflecting a flamboyant personality and a wicked sense of humor.
The slang word “drag” refers to a person (usually male) who assumes the exaggerated dress and mannerisms of the other gender for artistic or entertainment purposes. For centuries, men have dressed as women during traditional customs and rituals. In medieval England, when women were banned from appearing on stage, men in dresses was common in plays. The term “drag” first appeared in the 1870’s and may have derived from the sensation of long skirts trailing on the floor.
