Award winning American playwright Amy Herzog has brilliantly adapted a signature work of Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906).
The play follows the courageous efforts of a physician who discovers that his town’s water supply has been contaminated. But his efforts to bring this health crises to public attention triggers a severe backlash from local leaders — including his own brother.
Like the original 1882 play, Herzog’s modernist adaptation explores the conflict between personal integrity and societal norms.
