Just drop in for this all-ages printmaking workshop inspired by the masterwork Japanese woodblock prints in the museum’s “Hiroshige’s Tōkaidō Road” exhibition.
The exhibit features a complete set of prints created by legendary printmaker Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) depicting the landscapes and other sites travelers saw journeying from Edo (now Tokyo) to the imperial capital of Kyoto by the Tōkaidō Road.
Replicate the style and process of a wood block print using scratch foam. The museum’s teaching artists will guide you to create a series of small prints about your favorite journey. For more information, call (412) 622-3131.
