This 2018 American film takes the holiday movie into the realm of a dark comedy.
The story centers on openly gay Filipino-American Declan who returns to his San Francisco childhood home for Christmas. There, his brother Troy — who lives with their mother, his wife and daughter — rules the house with fear and intimidation, going so far as physically abusing his wife. During the holiday vacation, Declan fantasizes about murdering his abusive brother, but, as tension grows, it may not remain a fantasy.
Presented as part of the Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival, part of the nonprofit Silk Screen organization’s efforts to celebrate diversity and multicultural Asian and Asian-American experience through cultural events.
