Award winning actor and singer Ben Platt reprises his stage role for this 2021 film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical.
Platt portrays Even Hanson, a friendless teenager suffering from social anxiety, who writes supportive letters to himself on the advice of a therapist. A string of misunderstandings leads to the suicide of fellow teen loner Connor (Colton Ryan) and the false belief that he and Evan were friends.
The result takes a confused young man into more confusing situations involving Connor’s family, Evan’s own parents and the draw of social media. Also in the cast are Amy Adams, Julianne Moore and Danny Pino.
