Helen Welch is an internationally acclaimed vocalist, entertainer, producer and bandleader whose show honors the contributions of The Carpenters (1969-1983).
Composer and musician Richard Carpenter (born 1946) and his sister, Karen Carpenter (1950-1983) were a vocal and instrumental duo whose soft pop music helped to culturally define the 1970s. The siblings’ strove for a rich and melodic sound with introspective lyrics centered around relationships. The act ended with Karen’s death, which was connected with an eating disorder.
Helen celebrates the songs of the brother-sister duo through rare and fascinating backstage stories.
