The Energy Innovation Center is a Pittsburgh based, not-for-profit organization with a mission to support emerging clean and sustainable energy markets. It is housed in the renovated Connelley Trade School. The school opened in 1930 and was named in honor of Clifford Brown Connelley (1863-1938), who served as Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry from 1919-1923. It’s 2014 renovation is regarded as an excellent example of adaptive reuse.

Today, this 200,000 square foot building functions as a living laboratory for industry-informed education and training programs and a center that co-locates diverse tenants.

There will be a second tour at 10:15 a.m. Presented as part of Doors Open Pittsburgh, which celebrates Pittsburgh’s unique heritage by providing visual storytelling and education inside iconic and newly designed buildings. For more information, call (412) 583-1424.
