Grab a plat for a fantastic full-tasting experience as culinary historian Adrian Miller delves into the world of soul food.

What is commonly called “soul food” is an ethnic cuisine that originated in the American South among enslaved African Americans. Soul food came from the blending of what Black people ate in their native countries in Africa and what was available to them as slaves. The recipes became popular, in part, due to the accessibility and affordability of the ingredients.

The evening includes a delicious meal catered by Pittsburgh’s own soul food restaurant, Carmi Express.
