In this workshop, participants will explore a process to transfer images on fabric and embellish them with embroidery stitches to create a small stuffed keepsake.
Embroidery is a craft and an art-form dating to at least the 5th century BCE. It involves decorating fabric (or other materials) using a needle to apply thread, yarn or objects such as pearls, beads and sequins. A fabric can be embroidered by hand or with a machine.
Images may include magazine photos of pop icons, an important historical figure that has meaning to you, or a whimsical imaginative animal that you create by combining images.
For teens and adults.
