In this class students will be introduced to some of the most common tools that are needed to start building with wood.
Wood is an organic material made from trees or other plants that can be used to create a wide variety of products, especially furniture. Along with stone, clay and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans.
You will learn which types of wood are good for home use, tips for selecting the correct wood from the hardware store or lumber yard, and which tools you’ll need to cut, assemble and finish your woodworking project.
