Kids will soar through hands-on demonstrations featuring games, crafts and other kite-flying themed activities.

A kite is a lighter-than-air craft comprised of flat surfaces attached to a tethered string or rope. The lift that sustains a kite in flight is generated when air moves around the kite’s surface, producing low pressure above and high pressure below the wings. It is believed that the kite was invented by the Chinese philosophers Mozi (470BCE-391BCE) and Lu Ban (507BCE-444BCE). The word “kite” comes from a hovering bird of prey called a kite.
