Horror, comedy and fun rock songs converge in this wildly entertaining stage adaptation of the 1960 cult film “The Little Shop of Horrors.”
Set in a rundown 1950’s era flower shop, the musical centers on nerdy clerk Seymour, who is growing an odd horticultural find dubbed “Audrey II” (after his co-worker and crush). He soon learns that Audrey II needs more than water and fertilizer to grow — but human blood, which Seymour is expected to provide.
The original “Little Shop”movie was made in just a few days with a $30,000 budget and provided an early role for award winning actor Jack Nicholson. The stage musical was adapted to a hit film in 1986.
