The Swedish quartet ABBA (1972-1982) specialized in bouncy, upbeat pop tunes notable for their vocal harmonies. The group’s name derives from the letter in each of the members’ first name: Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.
Set on a Greek island paradise where the sun always shines, “Mamma Mia” is the story of a young woman determined to have the father she has never known attend her upcoming wedding. But this means bringing three men from her mother’s past back to the island — without her mother’s knowledge.
