This award winning play imagines what may have happened on a February night in 1964 among four African-American icons before they became icons.
At the center in championship boxer Cassius Clay (1942-2016) shortly before he takes the name Muhammad Ali. Having just won boxing’s highest prize, Cassius is joined in his Miami hotel room by three friends: controversial activist Malcolm X (1925-1965), legendary record producer Sam Cooke (1931-1964) and football great Jim Brown (born 1936).
Filled with music, hope and the sense that “A Change is Gonna Come” (one of its songs) this theatrical event re-imagines the story of Clay’s friendships on one life-altering night.
