Pittsburgh’s legendary professional baseball team — the winner of five World Series trophies — takes to the diamond against the New York Mets.
With an impressive history dating to 1882, the team is often known by the nicknames “Bucs” and “Buccos,” derived from another name for pirates, buccaneers.
Ticket holders to this evening’s game will receive a bobblehead depicting retired Pirates pitcher Doug Drabek. Now a professional coach, Drabek played with the Pirates from 1987 to 1992. He is a winner of the prestigious Cy Young Award.
