Pittsburgh’s legendary professional baseball team — the winner of five World Series trophies — is challenged by the Washington Nationals in three nights of games.

With an impressive history dating to 1882, the team is often known by the nicknames “Bucs” and “Buccos,” derived from another name for pirates, buccaneers.

Wednesday’s game is dedicated to Jackie Robinson (1919-1972), the first African American to play with a major league baseball team.
