The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is joined by an array of gifted vocalists to perform a beautiful mass written by German composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827, pictured).

Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).

Beethoven completed the mass in 1807. It is scored for four vocal soloists, a choir and an orchestra. The mass is considered a monumental work of joy, majestic beauty and the human spirit.
