South Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho (pictured) and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra offer a preview of their concert scheduled for tomorrow night (December 3) at New York City’s prestigious Carnegie Hall.

Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).

The program features a pulse-quickening showpiece written by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943). Debuted in 1934 and known as “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini,” it is a variation of an 1817 work written by Italian composer Nicolò Paganini (1782-1840).
