Acclaimed pianist Alice Sara Ott (pictured) — one of the most sought-after artists on the international stage — joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in performing a concerto by French composer Maurice Ravel (1875-1937).
Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).
Ravel’s concerto is a sparkling work with intricate textures, driving rhythms, and song-like melodies that create vivid interplay between piano and orchestra.
