The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and conductor Manfred Honeck welcome Yulianna Avdeeva for a program featuring works by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943) and Austrian composer Anton Bruckner (1824-1896).

Russian pianist Yulianna Avdeeva often uses period instruments to joyfully perform works of the classical repertoire from the baroque to the modern. Conjuring an impeccable combination of clarity, energy and elegance, she wins audiences with compelling honesty, wit and outstanding musical judgment.

Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).
