Up-and-coming conductor Fabien Gabel and celebrated violinist Karen Gomyo (pictured) make their Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra debuts in a program that marks the American premiere of a new concerto by Canadian composer Samy Moussa.

Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).

The program also includes French composer Ernest Chausson’s (1855-1899) magical “Poeme” and music from the magnificent 1911 ballet “Petrushka” written by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971).
