Noted violinist James Ehnes (pictured) joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in a program centered around a signature concerto written by Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky (1840-1893).
Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).
The violin soars as James Ehnes performs Tchaikovsky’s concerto, blending each phrase with lyricism and intensity.
