The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra pays some R-E-S-P-E-C-T to Aretha Franklin, featuring some of her biggest hits.

Singer, songwriter, actress, pianist and civil rights activist  Aretha Franklin (1942-2018) is considered one of the finest pop and rhythm & blues artists of all time. Many of her songs have multi-generational appeal.

Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).
