Ghanaian-American writer, playwright and actress Jocelyn Bioh penned this sparkling, award winning play inspired by her mother.

The play is set in 1986 at an elite boarding school in Ghana. Paulina, queen bee of the in-crowd, assumes she’ll win the Miss Ghana pageant — and a chance to be Miss Universe. But when the smart and witty Ericka enrolls, Paulina’s popularity plummets.

“School Girls'” premise and title are references to the hit 2004 film “Mean Girls” about an American high school clique.
