In this intermediate sewing class, you learn to sew from a pattern with local sewist/patternmaker Amy Bornman of All Well Workshop.

Sewing is the craft of fastening or attaching objects using stitches made with a needle and thread. Historians speculate that sewing may be humanity’s oldest craft originating more than three million years ago. Ancient people sewed fur and skin clothing using bone or ivory needles and thread made of various animal body parts including sinew and catgut.

This simple “box top” garment is a great starter project, has a casual fit and comes in an array of sizes up to a 62 inch bust. You will learn how to cut out your pattern, putting it all together, sew your seams and how to finish the inside neck. This pattern also has several simple customizations you use in the future at home as you develop your skills.
