Local actress and playwright Tami Dixon (pictured) stars in this one-woman show, a new version of her beloved 2012 presentation about the people who populate the city’s historic South Side.

Pittsburgh’s colorful South Side neighborhood was originally a village named Birmingham until it was annexed by the city in 1872. Immigrants from Germany and Eastern Europe made their home in the many row houses and work in nearby steel mills. Today, it is a bustling urban community centered around East Carson Street, which is home to many small shops, restaurants and bars.

In 2012, Tami sat on the sidewalks of the South Side of Pittsburgh asking residents to tell her stories. Those stories formed the basis for the original show as well as this follow-up.
