With potions and poisons and daggers and dueling and drinking and slurring and wobbling and drooling this romp brings new life to an old play: “Hamlet.”
Written by William Shakespeare (1564-1616) and first performed in 1607, “Hamlet” explores humanity’s eternal struggles with ambition, family, power, love and grief. The story centers on the emotional turmoil suffered by young Prince Hamlet who learns that his father was murdered and the Danish throne has been usurped by the killer — Hamlet’s uncle, who has also married the prince’s mother.
S##t-Faced Shakespeare is an unorthodox troupe that seeks to introduce a new generation of theatregoers to the works of the Bard by reviving the raucous, interactive and vibrant nature of his era’s theatre with a very modern twist (and keeping the show to under an hour).
