The award winning quintet Tengger Calvary mixes classic Mongolian music forms with contemporary heavy metal and folk elements to create an evocative, delicate and yet dynamic sound.

Mongolia is a landlocked Asian nation situated between China and Russia. Its history and culture is rooted in the semi-nomadic existence of a small population living in a vast land. Mongolia reached its peak under Genghis Khan (1162-1227) who established the giant Mongol Empire (1206-1368). Traditional Mongolian music is noted by long songs, overtone singing and a unique type of fiddle called the morin khuur.

The band is named after the ancient Mongolian deity Tengri and translates as “the army of the sky god.”

This is an age 21+ concert.
