Everyone is welcome to support equality with Pittsburgh’s most colorful parade.

Pride is an annual celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The word and concept of “pride” is in direct opposition to that of “shame” (or social stigma), which sexual minorities have had to endure for centuries. June is chosen as Pride Month in recognition of the Stonewall Riots, which happen in New York City on June 28, 1969. This event marked the start to what is now the LGBT Rights Movement.

The march steps off at 12:30 p.m. from the Blvd. of the Allies, turns left onto Grant Street, left onto Fifth Avenue and ends at Liberty Avenue.

Pittsburgh Pride is organized and run by the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh. The mission of the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh is to be a vigilant catalyst for change that produces increased opportunities and a high quality of life for the LGBT community in Western Pennsylvania.
