“Brown Butterfly” is an innovative multi-media work performed by The Craig Harris Septet based around the movements of the legendary Muhammad Ali.

Born Cassius Clay Jr., the boxer, activist and philanthropist Muhammad Ali (1942-2016) is widely regarded as one of the most significant and celebrated sports figures of the 20th century and one of the greatest boxers of all time. His nicknames include “Brown Butterfly” and “The Greatest.”

The program is lead by Craig Harris, an acclaimed jazz trombonist and composer who has been a major figure in the jazz avant-garde movement.
