A fine ensemble cast of future stars (including Cybill Shepherd, Jeff Bridges and Cloris Leachman) shines in this 1971 coming-of-age film. Set in the early 1950’s, it follows a group of teens facing adulthood as their small Texas town slowly dies around them.
The film is an adaptation of the acclaimed semi-autobiographical 1966 novel of the same name written by author Larry McMurty (1936-2021).
