This exhibition is offered as a celebration and remembrance of Milton Fine.

Hotel magnate and philanthropist Milton Fine (1926-2019) co-founded Interstate Hotels Corporation in 1960. He and his wife, Shelia Reicher Fine have been advocates and supporters of the arts through their philanthropy for decades.

Promised to Carnegie Museum of Art in 2015, the Fines’ outstanding collection of contemporary painting, sculpture, photography, and drawing echoes their interest in American and German art from the 1980s to the 2000s. Featured among them are colage painter Mark Bradford (born 1961), photographer Robert Mapplethorpe (1946-1989) and German conceptual artist Rosemarie Trockel (born 1952), among many others.
