Children (ages 4 to 8) are invited to a holiday exploration of dance and movement with the help of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
“The Nutcracker” made its debut in 1892 featuring an eternal score written by noted Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893). Set on Christmas Eve, its the tale of a little girl named Clara who receives a magical nutcracker that leads her into the radiant Land of Enchantment — a place brimming with virtuosic dances from faraway lands
Kids learn basic ballet steps and movement concepts through the storyline and characters of “The Nutcracker.”
