A world premiere, this opera demonstrates how the arts can uplift and unify victims of trauma.
The story centers around a high school production of the ancient play “Antigone” and a new student with a formidable secret.
Written around 440BCE by Greek tragedian Sophocles (497BCE-406BCE), “Antigone” (pronounced “ann-tig-e-nee”) is the tale of a princess whose desire to honor her late brother in spite of the new king’s wishes and even the law.
