Violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter returns to the Heinz Hall stage, joining the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for a dazzling one-night-only, limited capacity performance.
Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras. Heinz Hall was originally built in 1927 as a grand movie palace but was forced to close in 1964. It was to be demolished until local food company magnate Henry John Heinz II (1908-1987) gathered together a group of regional leaders and foundations. Together, they helped the Pittsburgh Symphony to acquire and renovate the theater.
The evening will includes valet parking, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, pre-concert dinner, premium seats to the concert, dessert and coffee.
