Break out the neon and leg warmers as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra — one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras — brings the iconic sounds of the 1980s to 2025.
The 1980’s saw an increase in the use of synthesizers as well as the rise of hip-hop and other urban-inspired sounds. The decade’s signature songs are associated with artists such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, Prince and George Michael.
The concert’s title is a fun take on that of the 1983 hit song “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” This is not just a concert — it’s a blast from the past.
