The Allegheny Overlook is a temporary public space created in two lanes of Fort Duquesne Boulevard.
Fort Duquesne Boulevard is a major Downtown street roughly paralleling Allegheny River on the edge of the Pittsburgh Cultural District. The boulevard is named after the French fort constructed in 1754 in honor of Michel-Ange Du Quesne de Menneville (1700-1778), the Marquis Du Quesne, who was colonial governor at the time.
Programming in the space is handled primarily by the nonprofit Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.
